There are 3 ways of getting to Croc's Nest
Air
Fly from either Johannesburg (45 mins) or from Cape Town Airport (2 hours) to either Nelspruit Airport (KMIA) or to Skukuza Airport (inside Kruger). Then be transferred, or pick up a hire car, to Croc's Nest (+/- 2 hours drive from either arrival airport).
This is the easiest and most recommended way to get to Croc's Nest Bush Lodge is the first option. To take the 50 minute flight from Johannesburg airport into one of the two nearby airports, preferably Skukuza, in Kruger Park, and be transferred by OSV (open safari vehicle) from there. This journey takes 90 minutes to Croc's Nest unless you stop en-route to view or photograph Kruger Parks stunning animal & birdlife as you journey southwards to the exit gate called Crocodile Bridge.
Car
Hire-car from Johannesburg Airport (O R Tambo) to Croc's Nest (approx. five-hour drive) ... the road often has hold-ups and delays and can become very slow-moving due to vehicles heading to the South Africa/Mozambique border.
Alternatively you can take a car-hire from Skukuza airport in Kruger and drive yourself down to Croc's Nest ... Driving through the Park is simpler than you think, being tar roads all the way, and is a very pleasant way to spend a few hours viewing and photographing the wildlife at your own speed and pace.
So that you are mobile whilst staying at Croc's Nest we recommend you have a vehicle to use during your stay. We can easily arrange a car-hire to be delivered to Croc's Nest enabling you to visit local restaurants & shops while you are there
Public Coach (Bus)
Public coach (JSL Transport) directly from Johannesburg Airport (O R Tambo) to Croc's Nest (this is the cheapest method, however its a six-hour drive with en-route stops). We'll simply arrange a car to be delivered to Croc's Nest for your use during your stay.
